Job Description
First Class Workforce Solutions is looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to help support a fast-paced team. Chefs are responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating foods to meet specific customer preferences, and they’re often required to handle tasks in other areas of the kitchen in addition to their stations. Responsibilities:
- Setting up the kitchen: Preparing the kitchen station, such as bringing food containers and retrieving necessary utensils before the event starts.
- Cooking: Cooking a specific portion of each plated meal, ensuring foods are cooked to the proper temperature, ability to cook in all forms (stove top, open flame, baking, broiling, etc.)
- Assisting with food preparation: Marinating, cutting, and precooking foods
- Plating food: Plating food creatively to maximize customer enjoyment. Follow specific protocol for each client ensuring that plating matches their expectations.
- Managing ingredients: Ensuring supplies are always adequate, and managing ingredients that should be frequently available.
- Planning and executing menus: Collaborating with other colleagues to plan and execute menus.
- Following directions: Following the directions of the executive and sous chef, ensuring the food is up to client standards, checking in with Chefs to ensure the job is done satisfactorily, staying at work until the Chef relieves you from the shift or grants you permission to leave.
- Maintaining kitchen productivity: Giving attention to productivity of the kitchen such as speed and food quality; Safely and efficiently operate kitchen equipment and appliances.
- Ensuring health and safety standards: Adhering to all relevant health, safety and hygiene standards
- Keeping the kitchen clean: Cleaning the kitchen before the restaurant closes, and cleaning and sanitizing your area.
- Wrapping and storing items: Wrapping unused items and storing them in proper areas at the end of a shift; adhering to health and safety regulations governing food preparation and storage.

Job Requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Requires significant walking and the ability to work in a standing position for 8-hour shifts.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, as needed.
- Stamina to handle repetitive and multiple tasks while maintaining focus in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
Hiring Essentials:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Reliable and consistent transportation.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Willingness to submit to a Drug Test and Criminal Background Check.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and temperature control.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Chef or in a similar role required.
- Have a strong working knowledge of proper food handling, safety, and sanitation practices.
- Culinary education or training is preferred.
